About hypochlorous acid (HOCl)
What is hypochlorous acid?
Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a naturally occurring molecule that your own immune system produces to help defend the body. In skincare it's used as a gentle, water-light mist that helps skin feel clean and refreshed. It's known for being non-stinging and suitable for sensitive skin.
Does hypochlorous acid help with breakouts?
It's best thought of as a gentle, supportive step for breakout-prone skin rather than a treatment. Early research is promising, and dermatologists frequently use HOCl after in-office procedures, but it works best as part of a consistent routine, not as a replacement for anything your dermatologist recommends.
Is hypochlorous acid safe?
HOCl has a long track record in wound care and eye care and is considered gentle for topical use. HYSKIN+ is alcohol-free and fragrance-free. As with any product, patch-test first and stop use if irritation occurs.
Is HYSKIN third-party tested?
Yes. Our finished formula is independently lab-verified at 194.8 ppm active HOCl (within the 180-220 ppm target) and pH 5.7. See the results on our Lab-Verified page.
Using HYSKIN+ Solution Spray
How do I use it?
Mist evenly over clean skin, on the face or body, and let it air-dry. No rinsing needed. Use it morning and night, and any time skin feels sweaty, hot, or irritated. It's especially handy right after a workout, after shaving, or after removing makeup.
Is HYSKIN+ good for sweat and workout breakouts?
Yes, that's exactly what it's designed for. When you can't shower right after training, a quick mist helps clear away sweat and buildup and leaves skin feeling fresh and clean.
Can I use it on my back and chest?
Yes. HYSKIN+ is made for both face and body, so it's convenient for "bacne" and other areas that flare up after sweating.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. It's alcohol-free, fragrance-free, and non-stinging, which makes it gentle enough for daily use on sensitive skin.
Does it sting or have a smell?
No sting and no added fragrance. You may notice a faint clean, pool-like scent that fades as it dries. That's normal for hypochlorous acid.
Can I use it with my other skincare?
Yes. Use it on clean skin before your other products, or on its own during the day. It layers well under serums, moisturizer, sunscreen, and makeup.
How should I store it, and how long does it last?
Hypochlorous acid slowly loses strength when exposed to light, heat, and air. Store HYSKIN+ away from direct sunlight and heat, and use it within a few months of opening for best results.
